ABOUT ANNIE FORSYTH

After gaining a first class honours degree from the Royal Agricultural University Cirencester, in International Equine and Agricultural Business Management, Annie is fulfilling her lifelong ambition to be a full-time International Event Rider. Annie takes great pride in her horse care, and her professionalism and commitment to excellence is backed up by her professional support team ensuring her horses are given every opportunity to develop their full potential.

Having always had a passion for horses and been riding since the age of 3, Annie took every opportunity while growing up to work in various yards - in addition to the family’s - which culminated in her spending time at William Fox-Pitt’s as a working pupil, for her work placement during University.

Part of her studies took her to Kentucky, Germany and France where she studied different areas of the equine industry and experienced different management strategies. On leaving University she worked for Harry Dzenis Eventing for two seasons from July 2014 to March 2016 where she ran the yard in Harry’s absence and schooled many of the horses. In July 2016 Annie set up her own yard in Loxwood, West Sussex.

Annie has taken her horsecare knowledge first gained from the Pony Club Tests ladder and continued to build on it over many years particularly with the help of Stuart Duncan at the Liphook Equine Hospital. She came up through Cowdray Pony Club being a keen and active team member competing regularly. After joining BE, Annie was in the South-East Eventing Team for the National Championships. She now competes at International 3 Star and BE Advanced whilst aiming for the highest levels in Eventing.

TRAINERS

In January 2019 Annie started training in Leicestershire with Caroline Moore, coach to the British junior eventing team and a UK CC Level 3 coach. Caroline owns Allstar B with Ros Canter who won Gold at WEG in 2018. Annie decided to train with Caroline after attending her 4 years to 4 star demo which Annie felt covered all areas of training from Bella aged 4 to Pip aged 17 and all the others in-between!

This is complemented by Dressage Trainer and International Grand Prix Dressage rider Sarah Millis, who is based locally. Sarah is a member of the World Class Equestrian Elite Coach Apprenticeship Programme.

The three times Belgian Olympic Eventer, Constantin Van Rijckevorsel, also lives nearby and helps Annie with her jumping.

Since 2017 Annie has taken part in the Mark Todd Bridging the Gap training series with Gill Watson and Lizzel Winter. The series is for riders making the transition up to 3 & 4 star.

MEET THE TEAM

Maximising potential for high level competition horses is a skill and requires the best back-up.  At Annie Forsyth Eventing every aspect of horse welfare is examined to produce good management. Annie is extremely grateful to her professional support team who provide a first class hub of knowledge helping her provide attentive horsecare:

Jenny started in 1986 and is a Chartered physiotherapist and a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy.

ADRIAN BRAZIER DWCF

We are proud to be supported by Stockley Outdoor and Equestrian for all our equestrian equipment.  They have everything we need for the great outdoors as well as any equestrian equipment for training and competing from either of their Midhurst and Littlehampton stores.

PEPER HAROW
HORSE BOXES

Adam McNeill at Peper Harow Horse Boxes does a great job keeping us on the road and looking after the lorry. Peper Harow built our first box and since we moved to Loxwood in 2016 they are very close by to look after our current box. It's good to know they are there!

BATES
SADDLES
Whilst looking for saddles for her younger horses, Annie was delighted to find Bates Saddles supplied by Stockley Outdoor and Equestrian. Annie is now using Bates jumping and dressage saddles. For jumping, the newly launched Eventing Saddle, the Advanta, and the Bates Elevation, and for dressage the Isobel Worth. You'll find more information about the saddles on the Blog page but these saddles adjustability is unique and the patented CAIR system an innovation.

ANNIE'S FAMILY
FENELLA FORSYTH

PA, business coordinator,

sponsorship liaison,

marketing and publicity

Annie’s Mum Fenella, shares Annie’s passion for horses and love of Eventing and when Annie decided this was what she was going to do, Fenella was right behind her! As Annie’s PA and business coordinator, Fenella adds marketing, publicity, sponsorship liaison, organisational & office management skills to Annie Forsyth Eventing. Fenella is also responsible for the photographic & video production. Never a dull moment!

ANTHONY FORSYTH

After 20 years living near Midhurst, in January 2016 the family moved to a 60 acre farm where Annie has her yard and Fenella runs the farm. Anthony works in London during the week but enjoys helping out on the Farm at weekends. The first two years were a whirlwind improving the facilities but now the farm is home to a super yard offering both winter and summer individual turnout, regularly grazed by sheep keeping the grass in good condition. When not on the farm at weekends Anthony is regularly at Events supporting his daughter!

SOPHIE FORSYTH

Annie’s sister Sophie is a great supporter and also takes the best photos in the family. Annie and Sophie had great fun in Pony Club when growing up, doing pairs and being on teams together, going to camp and Sophie was particularly successful show jumping. Sophie intends to follow her Dad into the City - much to her parents relief as one competitor in the family is quite enough!

SPOT
- THE YARD CAT
Spot, who thinks he is a small horse, is vigilant in his work maintaining a zero mice policy in the feed room - a task he takes very seriously!
